How to Rotate and Reorder PDF Pages

Scanned documents come out sideways more often than they should — a page fed into the scanner the wrong way, or a mixed batch of portrait and landscape pages. And sometimes a document's pages just need reordering after the fact. Both are quick fixes without touching the original scan or print.

Fixing sideways pages

1. Open Rotate PDF and add your file.
2. Pick 90°, 180°, or 270°.
3. Run it — every page in the file rotates by the same amount.

This applies one rotation to the whole document. If only some pages are sideways and others aren't, use Organize instead (below) to rotate individual pages.

Reordering, rotating individual pages, or deleting a few

1. Open Organize Pages and add your file — it loads a thumbnail of every page.
2. Drag thumbnails into the order you want.
3. Click the rotate icon on any individual page that needs it, independent of the others.
4. Click the remove icon on any page you don't want in the final file (click again to bring it back before running).
5. Run it once everything looks right.

What happens under the hood

Both tools render your file with pdf.js to show the thumbnails, then use pdf-lib to copy pages into a new document in the order (and rotation) you set — entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so there's no wait for a server round-trip; the preview and the final output both come straight from your own device.
